Magpie was a children's television show shown on ITV from the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s.
It was a magazine format show intended to compete with the BBC's Blue Peter, but was consciously a much more "hip and trendy" show compared to the BBC's rather old-fashioned "Auntie Beeb" approach.
The show was shown once a week for the first year, but from then on was shown twice a week until it ended in 1980.
