Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirinhorn has traveled abroad frequently to represent their country at a variety of ceremonies.
In 1978 Her Royal Highness Princess Sirindhorn was bestowed with the new style of title of "Somdech Phra Debaratanarajasuda Chao Fa Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Rathasimagunakornpiyajat Sayamboromrajakumari" in recognition of her services to the throne and to the nation.

Under her patronage and active guidance, the restoration of Phra Racha Wang Derm won the 2004 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Heritage Award of Merit for its outstanding contribution to conservation in the region, and particularly in Thailand.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn is the first Goodwill Ambassador from an ASEAN country.
In her new role, she will advocate for cultural empowerment and highlight the rich diversity of ethnic and cultural groups represented in Thailand, from the hill tribe people in the north to the sea gypsy and Muslim communities in the south.

Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn was born on 2nd April 1955, the third child of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand.
Proceeds from her written accounts of her overseas travels are the main source of income of the Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn Foundation which was set up in 1979 to support needy students in schools, vocational colleges and universities.
In 1997 the number of students receiving grants from the Foundation is approximately 1,500.
