Whether it be a bronze relief sculpture or portrait of a Native American Indian, or a nude bronze figurative sculpture, these truly are original fine art bronze sculptures.
Tom Mahan's bronze figurative relief sculptures, created in the style of the Realists, have been exhibited in galleries and cultural centers including the Reading Public Museum (Reading, PA), The Big Artworks at Willow Street (Reading, PA) and The Depot (Steamboat Springs, CO).
Mahan studied the fine art of figurative bronze sculpture at the Wyomissing Institute of Fine Art in Wyomissing, PA, and at the Loveland Academy of Fine Arts in Loveland, CO.

 USS MAHAN (DDG 72) History
On patrol 7 December 1941, MAHAN, with TF 12, was ordered to set course for the Japanese forces, thought to be headed for Jaluit from a position 200 miles south of Pearl Harbor, and "intercept and destroy." Unable to locate the enemy, MAHAN returned to Pearl Harbor on the 12th.
MAHAN then conducted screening activities for inter-island and transoceanic convoys until 24 February, when she was assigned to a patrol station off Canton Island.
MAHAN returned to the South Pacific 9 January 1943 and escorted convoys between the New Hebrides, New Caledonia, and the Fiji Islands before establishing a patrol off New Caledonia in March.

Mahan's work encouraged a technological upgrade by convincing those opposed that naval knowledge and tactics remained as necessary as ever, but that domination of the seas dictated that the speed and predictability of steam-powered engines could not be sacrificed.
Mahan's influence sowed the seeds for events such as the naval portion of the Spanish-American War and the battles of Tsushima, Jutland and the Atlantic.
Mahan was the son of a professor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., in 1859 and went on to serve nearly 40 years of active duty in the U.S. Navy.

 APHA: Charles Samuel Mahan Winner of APHA Martha May Eliot Award
Mahan is not only the director of maternal and child health policy for the Florida-based Lawton and Rhea Chiles Center for Healthy Mothers and Babies, but is recognized by his colleagues as an expert and distinguished pioneer in the field.
Named a 'pioneer' by colleagues, Mahan is credited with developing the first "red door clinics." These clinics aimed to reduce stigma and offer services to venereal disease populations that previously did not have access to care.
From 1982 to 1987, Mahan served as the director of Florida's maternal and child health and as state health director for seven consecutive years, beginning in 1988.

Mahan enjoyed studying human emotions and expressions, but as the Pocahontas's deck officer that day, he should have been watching the direction in which his ship was drifting.
Mahan's effectiveness as a teacher of seamanship proved to be as questionable as his own ability to handle a ship; he later recalled the "humiliation" and "bad luck" of having to teach subjects such as knotting, which he considered unworthy of his time.
Mahan, who rated himself intellectually superior to almost everyone, was not well liked by his students, and during his 13 months in Newport, he rapidly began to dislike his chosen profession.

U.S. District Judge James Mahan has ordered the FBI to provide the court with any clear evidence the agency may have that could clear Rick Tabish of the murder of Ted Binion.
Mahan's ruling doesn't go as far as Serra wanted, as it only requires the FBI submit any direct evidence, not anything that could go toward motive.
Mahan ordered that the information be turned over to him for review by Dec. 18, and set Jan. 3 as the date he would release anything he deems appropriate.

Mahan is involved in state and national policy development and is currently guiding ASPH in two major efforts, the development of a national credential for graduates of schools of public health and collaboration with APHA, NACCHO, and ASTHO on solutions for the public health workforce crisis.

 USN Ships--USS Mahan (DD-364)
In mid-October 1942 Mahan steamed south to join the campaign to hold Guadalcanal, en route conducting a raid against Japanese patrol boats near the Gilbert Islands.
Mahan returned to the south Pacific in January 1943, after repairs, and escorted convoys there until mid-year, when she transferred to the Seventh Fleet for operations in the vicinity of New Guinea.
The inboard destroyer, with the distorted bow, is probably USS Mahan (DD-364), which was damaged in a collision with South Dakota at the close of the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands on 27 October 1942.

Many agencies (from the city government to Google) are already doing this task every day - Sam had to fix the maps for The Sweeet Cheat Gone so that they'd at least approximate where streets actually go in Mission Bay right now.

On the way back from Bam to our hotel in Kerman our guide suddenly announced we were going to make a stop in Mahan to see a palace and a mausoleum.
It was almost dark and we had absolutely no idea what to expect.
With such a ritual, we don't think there are many fat dervishes.
