Maharshi Jaimini, a student of Vedavyasa, wrote his Upadesa Sutras as a supplement to Parasara’s Hora Sastra.
Jaimini’s short, pithy, coded sutras will be taught verse by verse by Sanjay Rath, who himself has translated the Maharishi’s work (Sagar Publications, New Delhi, 1997).

There are seven karakas in the traditionally accepted Jaimini system, though a few modern 20th century self styled gurus claim eight karakas.

Firstly, I don't think its right to say that Maharshi Vyas has 'authored and compiled' the Vedas since even his father (Parashar), grandfather (Shakti) and his great-grandfather (Vasishta), not to mention sages such as Brahma Rishi, who had lived long before him, had read all the four Vedas.
Yoga darsana by Maharshi Patanjali says, 'he is the teacher of even the most ancient teachers, because he is not circumscribed by time' (sa esha purvashaamapi guruh kaalenaanavachedaat).
Veda does not contain any history or proper names, as is attested by Maharshi Jaimini and others, which makes it eternal.
