It was learnt that the riot in Maiduguri, Borno State which broke out simultaneously with that of Katsina was as a result of the cartoon on Prophet Muhammed published in a Danish newspaper.
The riot in Maiduguri had claimed no fewer than 16 lives while properties worth millions of naira had been destroyed.
