  Maisonette served 5-star rating for 39th straight year
Since Maisonette was awarded its 38th consecutive five-star award from the Mobil Travel Guide in January 2002, the downtown French restaurant has coped with a slumping economy, boycotts keeping some people away from downtown and competition from another French fine-dining restaurant opening downtown.

Maisonette officials pondering whether to move the five-star restaurant from Cincinnati may be looking at sites near the Rookwood Commons mall in Norwood, Ohio, and the Kenwood Towne Centre in Sycamore Township, Ohio, sources say.
Bill Butler, president of Corporex Cos., said reports that he is trying to bring the Maisonette to Madison Place, his 15-floor office and condominium tower on the Covington riverfront, are false.
Bickford said, though, that it would be "logical" for the Maisonette to operate near the upscale mall, which currently is being expanded and renovated.

They hoped to relocate to the 'burbs but the plan and building they had hoped for did not pass the local board so the Comisar's decided to close the place lock, stock and barrel - and sell everything that was and wasn't nailed down.
Yup, the Maisonette was one of those "time stood still" restaurants that sadly will not likely ever be copied.

Maisonette takes you through many courses from the time you walk in to the time you say "bon nuit", and your palatte will love you for it!
I kept having small courses, and was concerned I wouldn't have room for the main course (each course WAS a main course).
