	Teachers ask DepEd to include Maitum jars in History books
		MAITUM, Sarangani -- This town plays a very important role in determining the prehistory not only of Mindanao and the Philippines but also of Southeast Asia.
		The questions cannot be answered as yet, given the constraints faced by the National Museum team, among them, security, funding, time constraints, absence of laboratory analysis, and the fact that before Dizon's team came, the cave had been "severely disturbed" because a Japanese national financed a digging there in search of gold bars.
		A link could have been found within Maitum itself, in the cave in Sitio Linao which Dizon and his team visited on Wednesday and Thursday last week but the cave has been "heavily disturbed" by treasure diggers.

	Sun.Star General Santos - Binuyugan 2005: Maitum revisited
		Maitum, located 101 kilometers southwest of General Santos City and populated by just a little over 35,000 residents mostly living along the coastal line, is a largely agricultural land predominantly inhabited by migrants from the Ilocos region.

	Maitum Cave artifacts likely 3000 years old
		MAITUM, Sarangani -- A cave located seven kilometers from the town hall here has yielded potsherds from various periods, including those that are likely 3000 years old, archaeologists from the National Museum who visited the site here, said.
		The "Maitum Jars," as they are referred to now, are "unparalleled in Southeast Asia" in that it is an exceptional archaeological assemblage.
		The Maitum pots are only 5 BC to 350 AD," he said.

		One exception to Sarangani’s peaceful election climate was the municipality of Maitum, which lies on the province’s far Western frontier.
		The good people of Maitum responded by converging on the polls in righteous anger, voting a new mayor and a new slate of councilors, nearly all of whom were endorsed by Governor Migs.

	Maitum Crabs : Mindanao
		MAITUM, Sarangani (August 22, 2007) – A traveler from Davao City shows a pair of crabs he bought at P125/kilo from a street peddler Wednesday (August 22) in poblacion Maitum.
		Tourists ordinarily buy food from the public market or peddlers before going to Maitum’s picnic grounds, the most popular of which is the whitewater tubing adventure in barangay New La Union.
