Army senior defensive midfielder Mike Kamon (West Chester, Pa.) and Bucknell senior goalie Justin Sussman (Towson, Md.) became the first co-winners of the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in the 13-year history of the PL. The award is selected by the League's sports information directors.
Sussman, a business management major with a 3.25 GPA, was named the League's Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight season after posting a 9-4 record with a 6.68 goals against average and a.664 save percentage for the PL co-champion Bison (9-4, 5-1 PL).
Sussman is the fifth Bison player to win the PL Men's Lacrosse Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award in the 13-year history of the League.

In 2000, ND had five players earn accolades, as Denise Boylan, Christi Girton, and Kristy Kreher were first-team picks, Marcie Bomhack was on the second team, and Kim Fletcher was tabbed to the now-defunct all-rookie team.
League newcomers nabbed the other two major awards, as senior OH Lena Ustymenko from Louisville was the BIG EAST Player of the Year, and Cincinnati's MB Jessie Nevitt was the rookie of the year.

He was an integral member of the league's stingiest defensive team, as the Bayhawks allowed only 150 goals.
