Regional power - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A regional power is a term used in the field of international relations to describe a state with power and influence that allows it to have a certain element of control over its geographical region.
If there are any major powers or superpowers in a region, they are automatically accepted as a regional power, even though their power and influence spreads well beyond the boundaries of their region (this can be seen with China in East Asia, India in South Asia and the United States in North America).
Today the major European powers are roughly equivalent in economic power though there are different approaches to foreign policy (e.g., the positions of France and Germany compared with the UK in respect of the 2003 Iraq war).

Black Holes Could Be Major Power Source
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Black holes, those invisible matter-sucking drains thought to lurk in galaxies' hearts, may be the force behind half the energy released since the universe began, scientists reported on Friday.
Astronomers have presumed for years that fl holes emitted a bit of energy, but nothing like the monstrous power spewed by stars.
In fact, much of the power they emit can only be traced through X-rays, according to Andrew Fabian of the University of Cambridge, who presented his research about fl holes' energy output at the X-ray meeting.

This important program will provide the Philippine Government a $450 million loan to support restructuring of the power sector with the aim of ensuring a stable supply of electricity and creating a sound investment climate needed to generate employment, while improving the country’s fiscal imbalance.
Those ongoing reforms include measures to improve the National Power Corporations operations and cut costs, the introduction of a competitive electricity market that will sustain the country’s power supply through private investment, and privatization of power sector assets that will provide funds to help pay off NPC’s huge debt.
These steps will help avert a major power sector-related fiscal crisis that looms in the coming years as large debt service payments come due.

The Eco Warriors feel the Unionists are a major factor in the continuation of the mining and destruction of the planet of Rubi-Ka, so they have no desire to ally with them.
Gaia is strongly against the efforts of the Unionists, both in their desire to fight against the corporation in open combat, and in the conflict between the two clans' ideas of conservation as The Unionists are mostly miners and workers who are not immediately concerned with the environment.
Ultimately, the majority of clanners are in favor of the Council, and while the Sentinels dont care much about impressing Radiman or any of the major clans, they do understand that they have a lot of support from clanners that they would loose if they completely disregarded the Council.
