 Lumumba
It was agreed, however, that the more conciliatory Joseph Kasavubu (Maka Kotto), leader of the Abako party, would assume the presidency and Lumumba would serve as Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.
Lumumba's fiery speech at the swearing in ceremonies left no doubt that Congolese independence was due strictly to the desire and perseverance of free-minded citizens, ready to govern themselves, and not due to the benevolence of the white Belgians relinquishing control.
Maka Kotto as Joseph Kasavubu lets us see a politician surviving.

"The symbol is powerful," says Maka Kotto, the new MP for Saint-Lambert in Canada, located just south of Montreal, whose fl population is less than 3%.

But where Mobutu is fierce and withdrawn, Lumumba's charismatic brilliance and his skills as a public speaker make him more obviously threatening to those looking to maintain Belgian interests in the area.
When the Congolese government is finally formed, Lumumba agrees to serve in a coalition government, as Prime Minister for President Joseph Kusa Vubu (Maka Kotto), leader of the party opposed to the MNC.

deseretnews.com - Movie review: How to Make Love to a Negro Without Getting Tired | Deseret Morning News Web edition
Despite the offensive title, apparently intended as satire, "How to Make Love to a Negro Without Getting Tired" is a very soft sex farce that is neither as raunchy as many R-rated comedies nor as funny as it would like to be.
Man is a Haitian in Montreal, living in a small apartment with Bouba (Maka Kotto), a devout Moslem counselor who, it is explained, believes in only three things — Freud (whom he claims invented jazz), the Koran and sleep, which Mans says he can drop into for 72-hour stretches.
In many ways, Bouba is the more interesting character here, but both actors are effortlessly appealing and put much more into their roles than is written.

One of the famous legends about the CIA was that they would go around bumping off foreign leaders that they didn't like.
It begins with the musings of a dead man. Lumumba's (Eriq Ebouaney) ghost tells his daughter in voice-over as we see Congolese soldiers exhuming, then cremating his rotting corpse.
