  IMBA Resources: Environmental Conservation: Conservation Actions Performed By Mountain Bikers
Winter Park and Boulder, CO IMBA supported approximately 85% of the proposed James Peak Wilderness, and sought alternative protection for the lands in the proposal that are valuable for bicycling.
Their aim is to restore Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park to a native forest over the next 50 years.
Friends of Forest Park deemed PUMP an "Exceptional Friend of Forest Park." The award was for raising $2,000 for the Fill the Hole campaign in addition to all the other work the club does on the park, including trail maintenance, cleanups, bike patrols and other fundraising events.

This mountain bike park will thrill even the most expert/extreme riders as well as offer beginner riders a safe, accessible opportunity to develop skills before heading out onto the longer, more isolated, rides.
Several of the local mountain bike clubs and a dedicated and enthusiastic group of volunteers support the park.
The park is at the south end of Karori on South Karori Road and has various entry and exit points.

Mayor Kerry Prendergast will be joining mountain bikers on a ride this Sunday 22 April before she officially opens a new skills area at Makara Peak Mountain Bike Park.
The ceremony will be followed by a mountain bike riding display with mountain bikers showing off their skills on structures like drop-off ramps, table-top jumps and the "bowl".
The park is owned by Wellington City Council but managed in partnership with the Makara Peak Supporters group which has planted more than 27,000 trees, built some 26 kilometres of track and tackled a legion of pests including goats, stoats, weasels, hedgehogs and possums.

The fit of this bike has been great for a commuter and hopefully I will be able to find a replacement frame that will wey less and not start acting like a wet noodle after 6 months of riding.
