Bell Records - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bell Records was the name of at least four different record companies in the 20th century.
Forming a partnership with labels Amy Records and Mala Records, the three companies merged into a single unit in 1969, retaining the Bell moniker.
This company was acquired by Columbia Pictures in 1971, and became the new Screen Gems/Columbia record label with the demise of Colgems Records, whose biggest act was The Monkees.

CANOE -- JAM! Music - Pop Encyclopedia - Taylor, R. Dean
Dean Taylor started his career in his home of Toronto in 1961 playing piano and singing with various groups at all the big Toronto clubs as well as recording several singles for the Audiomaster label that were poor quality and received little if no airplay.
In 1962 he recorded the single/demo "At The High School Dance" for Amy-Mala Records which gained him a bit of attention to which Taylor took the advice of a friend and pursued his dreams in Detroit.
Motown's Brian Holland offered him a position as a ghostwriter for the label and later he would finally be recognized for this talent on such songs as "I'll Turn To Stone" (The Four Tops), "Love Child" and "I'm Livin' In Shame" (The Supremes), and "All I Need" (The Temptations).

Because the lookout record for these (and other) stolen blank passports is based on the passport numbers, INS inspectors will not get a match to a stolen passport record when they enter only applicants' names and dates of birth.
Mala fide VWPP applicants have entered the United States without being intercepted because INS did not systematically collect information on all stolen passports and did not create lookout records based on the information that it did receive.
Of the 500 stolen passports that had lookout records, 112 (22.4 percent) had discrepancies between the placement of the alpha characters in the actual passport number and the way it appeared in the lookout record.

The Austin Chronicle: Politics: 'There's Going to Be Some Changes'
In his testimony in the Jeff White lawsuit, APD Assistant Chief Jimmy Chapman said it would be "inappropriate" to look at or ask to remove documents from an Internal Affairs investigative file in a case for which he wasn't responsible, and that he's never done so...
In his own deposition in White's case, taken July 10, Chapman testified he had no idea White was involved in the Mala Sangre probe, had nothing to do with White's January 2002 transfer, and was "shocked" and surprised by White's allegations that Chapman had thwarted the Mala Sangre investigation.
At issue is if and how Chapman and Maspero learned that Maspero's phone records and other information were included in a 1997 Internal Affairs file about another case, unrelated to Mala Sangre, and whether the two then demanded that the records be removed.

The Austin Chronicle: Politics: Mala Sangre: City Shoots Self in Foot, Then Reloads
Shortly after White filed suit, the city moved to dismiss the case on two grounds: that White never reported his suspicions about Chapman to a legally "appropriate law enforcement source," and that there is insufficient evidence of retaliation.
I understand he has some phone records in the Putman file, and he doesn't want anything to come up that might embarrass him in his campaign, and would like you to remove those records from the file,'" Cockman testified.
According to the Mala Sangre investigators, Chapman and Maspero -- the former FBI liaison to the APD -- had interfered with their investigation, in part by halting undercover surveillance work at an East Austin nightclub where APD officers were allegedly using cocaine.

As a result, the handful of singles and two albums from Ronny & the Daytonas' Mala Records period (1964 to 1966) stand as not only some fine Beach Boys-influenced music, but some great rock & roll that actually goes somewhere, and isn't merely imitative.
