 | | MUMBAI, June 13: Less than 100 residents of Malabar Hill and the adjoining areas of Cumballa Hill, Gamdevi, Napean Sea Road, Peddar Road and Tardeo --which have a combined population of over three lakh -- have registered their servants with the nearest police station, despite repeated requests from the authorities to do so. |
 | | In the wake of the murder of an 86-year-old woman at Malabar Hill on Friday, deputy commissioner of police (zone-II) Dr K Venkastesham said police have constantly warned residents on the dangers of employing servants without registering them at the nearest police station and ascertaining their antecedents, but the warnings have fallen on deaf ears. |
 | | The stickers with all the dosand donts were to be pasted on the doors of residences. However, while police felt the residents were not co-operative, some locals said the authorities were not doing enough to ensure the safety of citizens. |
