Malaita emerged winner with convincing wins against their opponents in their pool that included Honiara, while Makira in Pool B. In the final, Makira rocked their opponent with their speed and accurate passes.
Rex again tormented the Malaita defense and scored another brilliant goal, way out of shooting range by lobbying the ball over the goal-keeper who had moved out of his line to put his team out of reach with time ticking away.
Malaita had one clear chance to score a goal but a point-blank shot hit the woodwork and saved the day for Makira.

The Malaita accretionary prism (MAP) along the northern flank of the Solomon Islands consists of an accreted wedge of pelagic sediment and oceanic plateau basalt offscraped from the actively subducting Ontong Java Plateau (OJP).
The Malaita province is adjacent to the deepest part of the North Solomon trench (NST) (~5700 m), and the steepest dipping area of the OJP (3.5 degrees) measured from seismic lines and seen on plots of earthquake hypocenters.
The anomalously-striking Ramos Ridge province exhibits elements of both of the other provinces and represents an area of tectonic transition between the area of steeper-dipping OJP to the SE and the shallow-dipping OJP to the NW.

If you reside in Auki you would have seen the Malaita sports office which was funded by CDRF and the sports court as well.
The Malaita rugby union was also reformed and has several tours to Honiara during my time in sports office.
Malaita sports council the very important body for sports was ready to formalise but unfortunately I was terminated.

I AM writing in response to Malaita Province deputy premier on the Star No. 2877 to my article some months ago with regards to transparency which he side track and claimed to be misappropriation.
My involvement with Temotu Company is to create normal service to the people of Malaita Province which you and your government are not transparent to them by resuming their shipping service (Malaita Shipping).
The reason is that the government of the day who approved the money to the province in terms of ward grants which are not allocated for.

During 1999 ethnic violence perpetrated by some indigenous residents of Guadalcanal against immigrants from Malaita (both constituent parts of the country) led to several deaths, kidnapings, and the flight of nearly 23,000 persons from Guadalcanal.

 Ramos II problem solved
A memorandum of understanding was signed on Thursday afternoon between a Malaita Provincial Government Delegation and Shefa Provincial Government to resolve the operations of MV Ramos II in Vanuatu.
The president of Shefa Province, Mr John J Kalotiti said at first it was hard for both sides to understand each other, but the cooperation resulted in a problem solved.
With the memorandum of understanding signed, Shefa province will wait for Malaita Province to give them a green light in order for Ramos II to resume its services and comply with the conditions given by VMA.
