Washington, who grew up in Swartz Creek, Mich., ended his career because a 1997 knee injury has limited his activity the last three years.
Washington, a former All-America at the University of Michigan, underwent additional surgery in November 1998, but was able to play just two tournaments this year, losing in the first round both times.
