Malietoa Tanumafili II (born January 4, 1913) is the head of state (O le Ao o le Malo) of Samoa.
As of May 2005, Malietoa Tanumafili is the third-longest reigning monarch in the world after the King of Thailand and Queen Elizabeth II, he comes from Samoa's four royal families and carries with him the four paramount royal titles.
King Malietoa Tanumafili II is the first reigning monarch of Samoa who is a Bahá'í and the second worldwide after Queen Marie of Romania.
