Abenaki mythology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tabaldak, the creator god, made humans and then Gluskab (several variants of whom were associated with different branches of the Abenaki, including Glooscap, Glooskap, Gluskabe Klooskomba and Nanabozho) and Malsumis sprang from the dust on his hand.
Gluskab and Malsumis both had the power to create a good world, but only Gluskab did so.
Gluskab founded the Golden Age of the Earth by rendering the evil spirits of the Ancient Age smaller and safer, as well as teaching humanity how to hunt and fish, build shelter and all of the Abenaki's knowledge of art, invention and science.

Glooscap - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Abenaki people believe that after Tabaldak created humans, the dust from his hand created Glooscap and his twin brother, Malsumis.
Malsumis, on the other hand, is the opposite, and seeks evil to this day.
Glooscap learned that hunters who kill too much would destroy the ecosystem and the good world he had sought to create.

In truth, Malsumis had made something of a ritual of this after initially meeting one of the pack; surprisingly aided in battle against the alliance while protecting a caravan of ore that had become so precious in the war.
Malsumis was not one of the pack, nor would he ever be, but he felt indebted to their display of what it meant to be alive.
Though he rarely ever made his way closer to those lying comfortably in the circle, the horribly scarred remains of the man that was once Malsumis, sat as usual, keeping his silent vigil watching those that he had come to care so dearly for.
