	Mamit Innuat
		Mamit Innuat was created in 1988 by four Innu Band Councils of the Lower North Shore region of Quebec.
		The office of Mamit Innuat is in Sept-Isles, where I met with Armand Mackenzie, a lawyer involved in land claim negotiations, and Germaine Mestenapio, who was recently hired as communication agent.
		Members of Mamit Innuat and the Band Councils have held public meetings in the Innu communities to present the federal and provincial positions.

		At least 850 houses were damaged by massive hailstorm in Mizoram-Tripura border district of Mamit on Saturday evening when a pre-monsoon storm accompanied by hailstorm hit some parts of the district, official sources said.
		Mamit District Deputy Commissioner Nghaklianmawia said that at least 550 houses were damaged in Mamit town alone while 300 more houses were damaged in nearby Kawrthah village.
		Out of the 550 houses damaged in Mamit town, 172 were declared as inhabitable for the nights and the victim families were provided with silpoulines by the district administration.

		On the west side of Merrit, Highway 97c continues west sharing the Merritt-Spences Bridge Highway to Nicola where Highway 97C turns north to follow the Mamit Lake Road to Logan Lake.
		The highway begins to gain elevation as it continues towards Mamit Lake.
		Mamit Lake is one of many small lakes which provide fishing opportunities.
