| | Daily Bible Study - Mamre |
 | | Mamre is known to Bible History primarily as the place where Abraham dwelt when he settled in the land that The Lord directed him to, after leaving his birthplace in Ur, in southern Mesopotamia, now known as Iraq (by nationality of birth, Abraham would today be, not a Jew, not an Israeli, but an Iraqi). |
 | | It was while living at Mamre that Sarah died, and Abraham purchased a nearby cave, the Cave of Machpelah, as his wife's tomb - thereby making it one of the most famous Bible Places, where eventually Abraham himself, and Isaac and Rebekah, and Jacob and Leah were all buried. |
 | | It was at Mamre that The Lord announced to childless Abraham and Sarah that they would have a child of their own, even though they were both by then advanced in age. |
