  CATHOLIC ENCYCLOPEDIA: Gnosticism
Man is a creature of the Demiurge, a compound of soul, body, and spirit.
The Good God revealed himself in Jesus and appeared as man in Judea; to know him, and to become entirely free from the yoke of the World-Creator or God of the Old Testament, is the end of all salvation.
In the Pistis Sophia the Æon Jeu is called the First Man, he is the overseer of the Light, messenger of the First Precept, and constitutes the forces of the Heimarmene.

Simone de Beauvoir - Introduction to Second Sex
A man never begins by presenting himself as an individual of a certain sex; it goes without saying that he is a man. The terms masculine and feminine are used symmetrically only as a matter of form, as on legal papers.
Thus humanity is male and man defines woman not in herself but as relative to him; she is not regarded as an autonomous being.
She cannot think of herself without man.' And she is simply what man decrees; thus she is called 'the sex', by which is meant that she appears essentially to the male as a sexual being.

 Clarke's Commentary - Matthew 19
A man shall leave (kataleiyai, wholly give up) both father and mother-the matrimonial union being more intimate and binding than even paternal or filial affection;- and shall be closely united, proskollhqhsetai, shall be firmly cemented to his wife.
Thus, they two (man and woman) shall be for the producing of one flesh, the very same kind of human creature with themselves.
Any of the latter a good man might bear with; but it appears that Moses permitted the offended husband to put away the wife on these accounts, merely to save her from cruel usage.

From this ancient divination book, there has developed the concept of man as created out of the five natural elements (iron, wood, water, fire, and dirt), as are dogs and cats, quite different from the Christian creation myth where a divine being already existed prior to the universe.
Fu-gui is quintessentially Chinese as his way of thinking is characteristic of Confucianism and Taoism, both recognizing man's social responsibilities, but differing greatly regarding the efficacy of human endeavors, namely, the extent to which human affairs are interpreted either as a result of the way nature operates or as a direct consequence of human actions.
This Taoist concept of man which he embodies is found in Zhuang-zi's chapter entitled "The Sage King,"12 The ruler of the South Sea was called Light; the ruler of the North Sea, Darkness; and the ruler of the Middle Kingdom, Primal Chaos.

But if her husband dies, the marriage law no longer is binding on her [she is free from that law]; and if she unites herself to another man, she is not an adulteress.
Young's Literal: so, then, the husband being alive, an adulteress she shall be called if she may become another man's; and if the husband may die, she is free from the law, so as not to be an adulteress, having become another man's.
Particularly in Jewish life this was the actual legal status of the wife, for she could not divorce her husband; divorce was a privilege granted only to the man. If the husband died, she was then released from "the law of marriage" (literally, "the law of the husband").

As to be expected, The Man Who Draws Things doesn't play well with others any better than his Darkness Device, and has no time for anyone who does not "share his vision".
