Balamurali Krishna has enriched Carnatic music with his compositions (over 400) and also through the creation of several new musical scales.
Balamurali Krishna has also proved his talent as a playback singer, music director and actor in several languages.

OK, coming to the current topics which I understand are : (1) G's classical/semi-classical : In this context, I would like to remind role of Dr. Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna in classical music in movies along with G. I vaguely remember that people saying that G was in competetion with Balamurali in some movies.
MD's preferred G because he is more flexible whereas Balamurali is more orthodox classical singer.
