The atoll of Manihi is located at 146° west longitude and 14°27’ south latitude in the northwestern part of the Tuamotu Archipelago.
Manihi’s exposed land covers 1,300 hectares (3,212 acres) that is divided up into 114 groups.
Manihi is part of the Vahitu culture area that also includes the Tuamotu atolls of Ahe, Takaroa and Takapoto.
