		In 1966, when North Iowa Area Community College was organized, he was elected to the North Iowa Area Community College board and became its first president, which he held for six years, and served on the North Iowa Area Community College board from 1966-1980.
		He was a member of the Manly Lions Club, past president and member of the Manly Jaycees and was a member of the Edward Tosel American Legion Post #110 of Manly and was awarded a 50-year membership pin.
