		Her Excellency, which ran to 252, was a joint composition venture with MANNING SHERWIN, already mentioned.
		Sherwin (1902-74) was American, but he settled in Britain in 1938 and soon made contributions to Posford's Magyar Melody.
		Sherwin's success was continued, if not quite at the same level, with The Kid From Stratford (1948-9: 235 performances) and Her Excellency, as already noted.

		Today's Journal Star article about the proposed strip mall at the corner of War Memorial and Prospect Road left me with the impression that 3rd District Council member Bob Manning is in favor of the plan, now that the owners of the project have made some adjustments to it.
		He notes that this current proposal is "180 degrees from what it looked like 6 weeks ago." He's apparently done a lot of work reaching a compromise that he thinks works for the developers and the majority of the neighbors.
		I'm going to let Bob Manning try to convince me of that, or at least that this is a good compromise.

		Direct from a Palm Springs, CA estate collection of vintage musical instruments and sheet music, it features Frederick Manning artwork of a young couple sitting among the flowering shrubs and proposing and an inset photo of the Lane sisters Leota and Lois who originally sang the song.
		We love the proud young man in his finest period clothes on the front cover, and the piece is in very good condition for the age with about 4 minor edge tears each 0.25" or less.
		Published in 1906 by Mozart Music of New York, the 13.75" x 11.0" piece has complete spine separation and several edge tears, but it also has a wonderful lithograph of a bird sitting on a flowering branch using a rich blue color, definitely worth a frame.

		Ross falls in love with the man who is supposed to be her chauffeur and who turns out to be a G-Man. Kelly's boy friend, a Nevada sheriff, arrives and sees that Ross is not Kelly, so he blows the whistle on the ruse.
		Songs by Manning Sherwin and Frank Loesser are not memorable but just right for the picture.
