Manscaping - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Manscaping is a neologism that was brought into American homes in 2004 by Queer Eye for the Straight Guy; portmanteau for "landscaping" the male body by shaving, trimming, waxing, or brushing the body hair.
Until relatively recently, it was considered unusual for American males to shave or otherwise remove hair below the neck.

Manscaping has been around for thousands of years, but went out of style from about 1000 AD till 2001.
Being properly manscaped has many benefits: less rashes, bigger looking genitals and a more defined taint, which is something we all want.

The artful "landscaping" of a male athlete's body by shaving, trimming, waxing, or brushing the body hair.
Word History: The earliest citation of the term "manscaping" appeared in an August 29, 2003 Sacramento Bee article titled "Sign us all up for our makeovers." The author, Anita Creamer (I'm not making that last name up), is not credited for inventing the term, but she was probably the first to use it in print.
The term gained widespread popularity in association with the Queer Eye For The Straight Guy reality show, in which it was revealed that gay men enjoy removing any and all body hair from themselves and others.

AEGiS-WashBlade: Staph spread linked to 'manscaping'
Since a staph outbreak among gay men in Los Angeles in early 2003, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention identified five major factors that facilitate the transmission of the infection: close contact, crowding, cleanliness, contaminated items and surfaces, and compromised skin integrity, said Nicole Coffin, a CDC spokesperson.
The compromised skin integrity category includes tiny abrasions that may occur during "manscaping" - the cosmetic shaving of body parts popular with some gay men.
A recent study of a college football team in Connecticut found that 10 of the team's 100 players acquired MRSA during an eight-week period, and those who shaved body parts other than the face were six times more likely to be infected.

I mean really: it doesn't take much time, it isn't expensive, if you're patient you won't cause and permanent damage to yourself, you'll bank tons of empathy-points, and it'll give you and your loved one another thing to talk about when the conversation lags and your struggling to make small talk.
