Miloslav Mansfeld was born on 14th December, 1912, in a small village called Dalovice near to the town of Mlada Boleslav, to the family of a soldier.
Mansfeld had already left Poland on 16th June, when he departed with the second group of Czechoslovak people, which was made up of 44 airmen, and the group went by train from Kraków to Gdynia.
With this flight, Mansfeld finished off his impressive score and at the same time it was the last victory of the Czechoslovak night fighters in the RAF during the second world war.

Martin Luther was born on November 10, 1483 in Eisleben in the county of Mansfeld in northern Germany.
By 1511, he owned shares in six copper mines and two smelting furnaces, and was considered one of the outstanding citizens of Mansfeld.

The slates contain copper and silver ores that are usually finely disseminated, but locally the copper concentration may reach around 3% (w/w), such as in the Mansfeld basin (Mansfeld copper slates) and further south, around Sangerhausen.
History: Mining activites at Mansfeld started around 1200, first working for silver with a first heyday in the 16th century, and continued until 1969, when the mines were finally closed.
The Mansfeld basin includes the towns of Hettstedt, Mansfeld, Klostermansfeld and Eisleben.
