Mantak Chia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Although this follows quite closely Traditional Chinese Medicine believes, where the two depart is in the fact that according to Mantak Chia the jing itself can be replenished with certain practices, thuse extending the natural body age limit.
The central practice for this attainment is a form of internal alchemy known as Kan and Li (water and fire).
Chia also introduced a form of abdomen massage which he calls Chi Nei Tsang, and which he says clears "negative emotions" in the form of "bad winds" or "sick winds" which are purported to gather near the navel.

Healing Tao Meditation Technique of Mantak Chia
What is particularly helpful about his approach, is the way in which the meditator is taught to direct their attention to various points in the body in a specific sequence, with the intention of gradually opening energy channels.
Though Mantak Chia presents an entire universal tao system for inner development, one branch for self-defence, one for health and healing, and another for spiritual development, 3 basic exercises are considered essential to each branch: the inner smile, the microcosmic orbit, and six healing sounds.
Mantak Chia emphasizes safe practice, with his instruction to always finish the meditation exercises by focusing attention on the navel in order to store any excess energy.

On top of that, and not to be at all discounted, is the fact that Mantak Chia is BY FAR the most succesful teacher of taoism in the west and there are a lot of people who are just plain old green with jealousy and envy and they hate him for it.
The only legitimate criticism of Chia's books is this--he is consciously writing for "the ages" and he makes them almost encyclopedic, and the result is actually more information than you may need to do the practice.
Lastly, Chia is one of the great modernizers and debunkers, doing basically for taoist spiritual practice what TCM in modern china tries to do for chinese medicine: sift it to find out what we actually can use and separate it from what we don't need because it is just superstition.
