MUMBAI: Mantralaya staff are not paying much attention to a circular issued in July, asking them not to use mobile phones while on duty.
According to the circular, issued by Sanjay Ubale, secretary, in-charge of administrative reform, many Mantralaya employees and senior officials spend a lot of time on their mobile phones and, as a result, were not concentrating fully on their work.
Mantralaya staff should also be included under such ratings and their output should be rated irrespective of how much time they spend on phones.

Another important e-governance project being implemented at the Mantralaya is the DJMS or the Document Journey Management System that creates an electronic copy of every file or document in the House, ensuring that it can be tracked on the local intranet as it passes from department to department.
Given that around 700 files are created by around 30 departments of the Mantralaya each day, the DJMS has done much to streamline the management of the files and records generated in the Mantralaya.
