The domestic rate of postage in Cuba at this time was 2 centavos per ounce as well.
Either the Cuban exchange clerk found this letter to be 5 times overweight and charged it accordingly, or they found it insufficiently prepaid and charged the 5 centavo U.P.U. International rate plus 5 centavos penalty, totally ignoring the 2-cents stamp.

To reach Marea, the best airports to use are obviously those in eastern Cuba: Manzanillo (110 km from Marea), Santiago de Cuba (180 km), Holguin (230 km) or Camaguey (325 km).
E-mail in Cuba is still not always reliable, so if you have not received a reply within a few days, try sending another e-mail, sending a fax (011-53-23-59-7080) or just calling the front desk of either hotel (011-53-23-59-7081 to 7084).
If you have arranged for your whole family or a bunch of friends to come with you and there are 6, 8 or more of you, contact the hotel before you leave and they can probably arrange for a minibus to pick you up, at a reasonable price per-person.
