Marathon Motor Works was an early automobile manufacturer, based in Tennessee.
In 1910, Marathon Motor Works was created, named out of the enthusiasm for things Greek which had grown out of the 1904 Olympics.
Marathon was soon on a genuine roll, even by the exuberant standards of the exploding auto industry.

The  traditional motor sport sponsors like BP, Shell and Castrol are consolidating and rationalising their investment for 1969 with a sound eye towards 1970, which with the Ampol Trial and the World Championship AGP promises to be a vintage year - and an expensive one.
Immensely strong factory support was the keynote of the Marathon, but it is very doubtful if even BMC's second outright will swing their thinking back towards motor sport during the coming year.

Since it's the end of a long week, I can't be bothered to do the maths to work out the physical distances of juggie and marine from the viewer, but I'd be pretty confident in reckoning that the difference in size there puts the marine at a significant distance from the juggie.
