Marc Cohn (born July 5, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio) is a Jewish American singer-songwriter, best known for his song "Walking In Memphis" from his self-titled 1991 album Marc Cohn.
On August 7, 2005, Cohn was shot in the head during an attempted carjacking, following a concert with Suzanne Vega in Denver, Colorado.
Cohn is married to ABC News journalist Elizabeth Vargas.

Marc is gifted on piano and guitar and all of the songs on this release use both or one of these along with drums, lots of percussion, violin, french horn, backing vocals, and even the accordion on one song.
Cohn is also a perfectionist which is why his entire career has seen only three releases plus a major label dropping him.
Marc's raspy voice and laid back attitude sets him apart but unfortunately he is only appealing to a specific audience and not to the general work force.
