Mark Teppo (dot) com :: Klinik - Akhet review
Marc Verhaeghen's Klinik returns after 2002's electro-stomper, Sonic Surgery, with the double disc Akhet, a dark and spacious ambient journey through the liminality of dawn.
Verhaeghen is experimenting in the long form with this record, exploring a moment of time through spatial arrangements of manipulated melodies, long tones, and ambient drones.
Verhaeghen doesn't delve into that bleak of a darkness with Akhet.

Long gone are the days when Dive's Dirk Ivens graced the stage with this outfit full time, and with re releases of past efforts there had to be something new on the horizon.
Marc Verhaeghen steers clear from a scene driven with an upsurge of power noise and provides us with intelligent dark electronics, bass ridden industrial dance and subtle ambience.
The real beauty lies in the quality of the numbers, with complex structures and quirky blasts of rhythmical beats to keep you teetering on the edge.

Noise Unit- Marc Verhaeghen, Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber.
Subsequent reviews of 'Drill' have claimed that Verhaeghen was working with FLA again but he merely allowed them to use his studio and some of his sounds.
Again, the overshadowing of Klinik on 'Response Frequency' is quite obvious as FLA's only recognizeable contributions would be Leeb's vocals some bass lines and some very VERRRRY similar beats to 'Caustic Grip'.

 Metropolis Records: Noise Unit
Noise Unit is one of the many side projects from the highly prolific Bill Leeb, most notably known for his work in Front Line Assembly.
Rhys Fulber joined the act in 1990, and this trio released Response Frequency, which appeared in this country as an import on the Antler-Subway, another highly influential label during the early years of the modern industrial age.
When Klinik began going through its various permutations, Marc Verhaeghen was called away and Noise Unit was trimmed down to Leeb and Fulber, making Noise Unit one of four bands comprised of this productive pair (the other three being Front Line, Delerium, and Intermix).
