Lacuna Coil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Finding that the name Ethereal was already taken, they settled instead on Lacuna Coil (the closest english translation is "empty spiral": "lacuna" is an Italian word from the Latin meaning lack of memory or emptiness, "Coil" is of course English and means spiral).
The band consisted at that point of co-vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro with bassist Marco Coti Zelati.
The band was accompanied for this tour by guitarist Cristiano Migliore and drummer Cristiano Mozzati.

I don't know where Rhea is, and Marco's probably singing in his kitchen.

So that leaves the house pretty quiet, and I can actually come downstairs and inside without other people being there.
Which was okay, but Marco is a little annoying, and he kept skipping and saying "whee" and stuff...

Then later on, after everyone had calmed down, Rhea tried to fly like the birds, but she couldn't.
Well, aside from Rhea and Marco being kidnapped and me killing a man who was harrassing Rhea, today was pretty much boring...

A girl named Rucy came to our house, and now she is our maid.

The overall feel of this EP is more mystical & mellower than the band's other releases.
However, the essential Lacuna elements that later become their trademarks begin to shine through here: the superb contrasting male & female vocals of Andrea Ferro & Cristina Scabbia, the creative songwriting & keyboard arrangements of bass player Marco Coti Zelati, and the melodic metal style that is Lacuna's foundation are all evident.
In short, you will definitely enjoy this EP if you're already a Lacuna Coil fan, but any of their later releases will appeal more to those who are not yet very familiar with the band.

Ferro bantered with the audience, saying, "This isn't the night we planned on, but it's a good night anyway." The comment was met with enthusiasm from the throng that had gathered on the floor in front of the stage.
Guitarists Cristiano Migliore and Marco Biazzi brought an extra pound of energy to the proceedings, beefing up tunes that during the outfit's Kansas City debut a year ago didn't seem to live up to recordings and knelt before the beat set down by the rhythm section of drummer Cristiano Mozzati and bassist Marco Coti Zelati.
It would be wrong to say that Scabbia took a back seat to her band mates but what did become clear, for once and for all, is that Lacuna Coil is a band — one that's above pushing a single member out in front for the sake of image.
