MARCOS CURIEL CLAIMS HE WAS 'FIRED' FROM P.O.D. Despite Sonny Sandoval, the singer for P.O.D., firing off an Email to fans stating that guitarist Marcos Curiel left the band on his own to pursue other musical endeavors, the guitarist claims otherwise.
Curiel also said P.O.D. is not as righteous as their reputation would lead fans to believe.
Curiel, who was always an outspoken member of P.O.D., is particularly upset because management, not his bandmembers, called to kick him out.

I'm glad Marco's is back, but i'm not crazy about the idea of him being in AXE as well as POD.
However, the myspace thing has changed, and i read a comment Marcos left on someone's myspace where he said that it was just gunna be the original band on the new record.
I'm sure everyone is overjoyed that Curiel is back, but I seriously doubt he would cause a massive boost in their album sales.

In an e-mail sent to fans Wednesday (February 19), singer Sonny Sandoval said Curiel left "to pursue his own vision apart from P.O.D.," however the guitarist insisted in a phone call from his San Diego home that he was kicked out.
nobody's perfect, although it is sad to read what Curiel wrote, cuz it sounds incredibly pesimistic and not like music is his ministry.
If the band is gonna put on a fake fascade just to sell records, what are their true motivations...not really focusin on God, that's for sure.

Around the time Curiel left the group, P.O.D. had been in talks to renegotiate their contract and they were invited to write the lead song for “The Matrix: Reloaded” soundtrack.
