Jin Uzuki - Biocrawler   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-04)
Margulis, greatly angered by this, challenged Jin to a duel.
Margulis managed to be the better with a sword, only because Jin had been previously wounded in his side before their duel.
Jin's, however, hit Margulis in the face, causing him to lose an eye and leaving him with a long gash across his face that would remain as a scar.

 Xenosaga Original Soundtrack : SoundtrackCentral.com
I was not so interested in hearing Xenosaga at first, but out of a remaining respect for Yasunori Mitsuda from his Chrono Trigger days and a hope that such a big-name title might somewhat live up to at least some of its expectations, I gave it a try.
Xenosaga is not unlike other RPG OSTs in its mix of live orchestral tracks with synth tracks.
Xenosaga may not have the hummable character and town themes or ultra-rocking battle themes that are staples of classic RPGs, but what it lacks it makes up for in new ways.

Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Böse - Walkthrough - The Gamers Temple - Page 23
Margulis enters her cell and asks some simple question to which she does not answer, saying she doesn't like the name "100-Series Realian" but instead wants to know where she's going.
Margulis turns around to see a white haired young man and a white haired even younger girl who looks like MOMO approach, saying only "You're late." Shion and everyone are settling in on the Elsa, the ship that picked up their escape pod.
Margulis says that this is the light cast by the stagnant eyes of the people who have lost the will to create.

Margulis is a visionary man that wishes to wake humanity up from its trance-like existence.
He adopts an attitude of superiority, believing that most people are "less than human." Margulis himself is obviously some sort of life recycling variant, being able to stand toe to toe with Ziggy (a combat cyborg) and MOMO and dodge a punch from Cherenkov (another life-recycling variant built for war) within a split second.
Very early on it is revealed who Margulis pledges loyalty to, and they both continue their hunt for the Zohar.

GamingWorld X - Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose Preview
Xenosaga, developed under Monolith Soft, (which houses many ex-Square employees who worked on Xenogears) is an epic sci-fi video game series imbued with a heavily philosophical storyline.
Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose (that’s Beyond Good and Evil to those not familiar with the German philosopher Nietzsche) will still contain more movie scenes than your average RPG, but we’re promised that they won’t approach the 50-minute length that a couple in Episode I did.
Since Xenosaga Episode II is in direct continuity with its predecessor, Shion, KOS-MOS, chaos, Ziggy, Jr., and MOMO all return as the main playable characters.

Albedo (Xenosaga) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In Xenosaga Episode I, his name is given as "Albedo Piasora." In Xenosaga Episode II he is listed as "Albedo Piazzolla." His surname is presumably a reference to Ástor Piazzolla, an Argentinian composer whose surname is also best approximated as "Piasora" in Japanese.
Albedo is first seen in the asteroid Pleroma, the base of Margulis, a commander of the U-TIC Organization.
In the Xenosaga anime, based on the events of Episode I, Albedo has a similar role as he did in the game, with a few differences.

Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra for PlayStation 2 (PS2) for ...
Xenosaga Episode III: Also Sprach Zarathustra is a slight consolation to the non-believers, with a more focused battle system and less moments of sitting around watching, without completely stripping away what's made the game popular with its fans.
Xenosaga I had a slow, plodding system with some confusing menu elements, making it more complex than it needed to be.
It's sad that Xenosaga Episode III is as good as it is – had they made a game as polished, accessible, and fun as this one the first time around instead of getting all complicated on us, the series might have somehow been able to make it to six games.

List of antagonists in Xenosaga - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Margulis (マーグリス) is one of the main villains in Xenosaga Episode I, II and III.
With Margulis' plan set in motion, he abandons the Patriarch to be killed by Shion and friends in the Ω System, so that the Patriarch would be replaced by Cardinal Heinlein.
Margulis' motives, as revealed in Episode III stem from the fact that he believes Sergius to be a petty and foolish old man who has lost sight of Ormus' original goal, returning to Lost Jerusalem.

The most noticeable change in the graphics in Xenosaga Episode II is the styling of the characters, which no longer have their animelike look.
The battle system in Xenosaga Episode II inherits a number of points from Episode I, such as the boost or the event slot, but there are a few new changes and additions that have greatly modified the gameplay.
Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose is slated for release in the US in February of next year.

 Margulis
Before he could do that, Margulis confronted Jin and the two engaged in a heated sword fight which resulted in Jin giving Margulis the sword scar that appears on his face in the present-day timeframe of the Xenosaga era.
Either way, Margulis' betrayal is one of the major driving forces behind Jin Uzuki's pursuit of Margulis and, ultimately, Ormus and the mystery behind the Miltian Conflict and the Zohar.
Before Margulis could launch his plan to go to Old Miltia to retrieve the Original Zohar he is ordered by the Patriarch Sergius to kidnap Viki and use her power to send them back to the time of the Lost Jerusalem conflict to retrieve the original Zohar from there.

Margulis does not have a scar running across one side of his head anymore, which may have some connection to the game's storyline, as he is said to have some sort of past relationship with Jin Uzuki.

Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose On GameVortex.com
Xenosaga Episode II: Jenseits von Gut und Bose (which means beyond good and evil) is the second game in the ambitious Xenosaga series.
The storyline of Xenosaga is a very serious one, and I think this change pushes Episode II a step ahead of its predecessor, at least visually.
Since Xenosaga Episode II takes place primarily on the surface of planets rather than in spaceships, this problem is far less of an issue, and there seems to be a conscious effort to give the world a more organic feel to it.

The subsequent encounter with the malevolent Margulis culminates in a vicious cinematic sword duel that results in some colorful special effects and a bit of scarification.

Margulis has perhaps the deepest voice of any cast member so far, which suits his role as a mysterious figure of generally villainous cast.
Xenosaga in fact has some pretty high-quality technobabble on tap, coming from both the Woglinde's bridge crew and Shion's assistants on the KOS-MOS project.

Just a bit of curiousity - Rpg Dreamers Forums
On Ep2, i'm currently at the part where you've just beat Margulis (the whole finish him with Jin was annoying cus i put him away and all my chars were on low life).
I must say when Margulis uses his big attack that hits all and blurs the screen, doing about 500-600 to each char, that did hurt slightly.
I think Xenosaga's battles require quite a bit of effort, and since I really rush through games like these on a first playthrough (to view the whole story as soon as possible) it leads to lots of early defeats.

In preparation of the composing for the Xenosaga Episode I Soundtrack, Mitsuda was flown to Europe where he would take the helm of the world famous Philharmonic Orchestra.
The pieces herein are played with nothing less than the quality you would expect from such an orchestra, although there are some tracks that were composed solely with the synthesizer.
The music played in Xenosaga contributes greatly to the emotional impact of any given scene, but listening to these tracks alone is where they can truly shine.
