Miller, daughter of John and Nancy Cannon, was born in Bath county, Kentucky, July 6, 1834.
She was married to John Miller, May 10, 1854, and was the mother of eight children, three of them yet living.

The 1900 Federal Census that enumerates Charles E. Miller indicates that the birthplace of Charles' parents was Germany.
On Charles Miller's death certificate, Jane Ellen Prickett Miller indicates that the first name of Charles' mother was "Bell".
If you search the 1880 Federal Census for a family where a member of the family is Charles Miller born in 1851 in New York and the head of the family is Jacob Miller, you find only one entry matching those criteria.

 John Miller (1726-1780) and Maria Magdelena Faber of PA and Rowan and Davidson Co, NC
Henry (1751) is probably the "Henry Miller" and not the "Jr" for the 1820 census shows a much younger Henry in Ashe County, and that is probably the one listed as "Jr" in 1815.
Maria died on 11 Dec 1777 in Rowan County and was buried on her father's farm.
I did not find Susanna on the 1820 census in Rowan, unless she is the one listed as "Widow Miller", and that could be her but it is impossible to say for sure, but I don't think it is her, mainly because the enumerations are not a great match with her 1800 entry.

While unfortunately I can find no mention of Amzi Miller or his family, there are Disciples of Christ churches near the areas in which they settled, one in particular being Rushville, Schuyler County, Illinois.
Finally, I recall that Polly Jane Miller Sell, Amzi and Maria's daughter, was herself a member of the "Christian Church" located at Mt. Sterling, Iowa.
A brief consultation of the Stone-Campbell database reveals that there were indeed Disciples of Christ congregations in south-east Iowa around the turn of the last century.

During the 1830s a few women abolitionists began to step outside of the boundaries of "proper" female activities by engaging in traditionally male domains, such as political writing and public speaking.
Maria Miller Stewart, a free-born Black from New England, delivered public speeches in Boston between 1831 and 1833 on antislavery and the improvements of economic and educational opportunities for Black women and men.
Angelina and Sarah Grimké, white sisters from South Carolina, traveled throughout the Northeast, delivering public addresses condemning slavery.
