She was born Marie Josèphe Rose Tascher de la Pagerie in Les Trois-Îlets, Martinique on a slave plantation, the daughter of Joseph-Gaspard de Tascher, chevalier, seigneur de la Pagerie, lieutenant of infantry of the navy, and Rose-Claire des Vergers de Sanois.
She is a direct ancestor of the present royal houses of Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Greece, Norway, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, and Monaco.
In 1811, Napoleon married Marie Louise of Austria, with whom he had a son, Napoleon II of France the same year.

He was awarded his V.C. for actions in the Ypres Salient, Belgium, during the Third Battle of Ypres (Passchendaele).
Apparently he was originally buried in ND de la Cambre entirely, but during the religious wars of the 17th century he was dug up and his bones were split up.

As Jos suggested, a family living in Kortrijk would not normally get the name VAN KORTRIJK -- everybody there was from Kortrijk.
Belgium 1620 daughter of Jan de la Montagne and Rachel de Forest, daughter of Jesse de Forrest and Marie DuClux.
I suspect that a group of people from Kortrijk fled to a town in Holland from Belgium, so the town was named in honor of them.

"We discovered today, three cases of domestic birds which were tested positive for the avian flu in the village of Ceamurlia de Jos in the Danube delta," Flutur told reporters.
Flutur would not comment whether the flu was the deadly H5N1 strain.
