MARIENBURG (Polish, Malborg), a town of Germany, in the Prussian province of West Prussia, 30 m.
Marienburg is chiefly interesting from its having been for a century and a half the residence of the grand masters of the Teutonic order.
It is built of brick, in a style of architecture peculiar to the Baltic provinces, and is undoubtedly one of the most important secular buildings of the middle ages in Germany.

There was a complete history of Marienburg printed in a WD article (the very first on Marienburg) and I assume that it will be reprinted in some form in the sourcebook.
Marienburg now plays host to the largest Sea Elf Enclave, with all the riches that entails.
Although the majority of tension between the two has died down - Marienburg is far too important to the Empire's trade routes for it to be ostracised for long - Marienburgers will be treated slightly coldly if they choose to visit the Empire.

I think that the work that hogshead did on this book was of a very high quality (although some of john blanche's artwork would without a doubt have given it another star or two) and offered a lot of adventure opportunities.
It was a great "base of operations" for players who wanted to explore the warhammer world (or a GM wanting to use other parts of the warhammer world for his campaign than the empire).
Marienburg is indeed a fine setting- and one that we won't be 'messing with'

Da die Polen sich in vielfacher Weise als gute Bewahrer der früheren deutschen Denkmäler und Kunstwerke gezeigt haben ist zu hoffen, dass diese vier guten Arbeiten Rudolf Siemerings vielleicht wieder an ihrem ehemaligen Standort in der Mitte des Vorhofs aufgestellt werden und wie einst von gärtnerischen Anlagen umgeben werden.
Denn die Geschichte der Marienburg, die auch eine deutsch-polnische Geschichte ist, bleibt mit den vier Hochmeistern verbunden.
