William Marcus Copeland, judge of the First District of the County Court of Maries County, and a farmer and stock-raiser of Jack-son Township, was born in Pulaski County, Mo., in 1842, and is a son of John and Mary America (Wiseman) Copeland.
He was married in Franklin County in 1854 to Mary J., daughter of Thomas and Emily (Burress) Crowe, the former born in St. Francois County, Mo., in 1807, and the latter born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1815.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Adkins; her parents, Carrell and Catherine Duke; three brothers, Joseph Duke, Raymond Duke, and an infant brother; two sisters, Madeline Copeland and Virginia Hohenstreet, one sister in law, Betty Duke; one brother in law, Grover Hohenstreen and one step brother, Orville Crawford.
Marie Cecelia Buechter, 78, of Brinktown, was born on Aug. 2, 1924, at Brinktown, a daughter of Frank Anthony and Anna Marie Kloeppel Kleffner, and died at 8:05 a.m., on Monday morning, Sept. 2, 2002, at the Villa Marie Skilled Nursing Care in Jefferson City after a lengthy illness.
