		Justly, the poet inaugurating this venture is Vincenzo Ancona, the Bard of Siculo-Brooklyn (originally from Castellammare del Golfo, Trapani Province).
		Accompanying Cipolla’s translation, which gives us a fine sense of Ancona’s orality, are two tapes of the poet reading/reciting/performing his works in Sicilian (some with the spirited participation of Maria Portuese and Antonino Provenzano, himself an “Ameri-Siculo” poet).
		I sense that Cipolla had the most fun and felt most creatively fulfilled himself in finding the keys to Ancona’s Sicilian wit and gallows humor with all their punch lines and ironic twists of fate and language.
