Mario Party 3 is naturally just an extension of the first two and offers the same large selection of Nintendo's popular mascot characters.
Getting back to an actual description of the general gameplay, though, it really should be stressed that Mario Party 3's main appeal is the fact that it has 70 all-new mini-games.
The Mario franchise is used just as well as always with super-cute characters, and bright Monopoly-influenced game boards to match it.

Mario Party 2 was the term where alliterative place names were demanded as law, so that The Leaning Tower of Pisa became the "Tumbling Tower", The Sistine Chapel "Mike's Mad Mural", and Venice "Criss-Cross Canal".
The Party appeared to be facing defeat until September 11th, when Mario Mario made a rousing speech to his people that they must "find the millennium star", an object that would not only wipe terrorism from the world, but also grant the wishes of all noble, hard-working Italians.
Mario attacked the manifesto on the basis of it being "boring", and quickly passed a law extending the term in office from 1 to 4 years.
