Marion Thornburg (better known as Marion Hutton), born 10 March 1919 in Battle Creek, Michigan, was an American singer and actress, and the older sister of Betty Hutton.
Marion was discovered by Glenn Miller when he heard the sisters perform in Boston.
Marion returned to the group in August, and performed until the group's final night, 27 September, 1942, crying through the night.

Hutton was so upset, a producer on the show promised to make her a star in movies at Paramount and he kept his word.
Hutton played legendary nightclub queen Texas Guinan in Incendiary Blonde (1945) and silent-screen star Pearl White in The Perils of Pauline (1947), but both characterizations hewed closely to her well-established persona.
The always tempestuous Hutton, who had taken to flexing her star muscles in bitter disputes with Paramount management, walked out on her contract after finishing Somebody Loves Me (1952, a biopic of vaudeville great Blossom Seeley), effectively ruining her screen career.
