		During the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan Marjan gained some noteriety as a particularly pitiable denizen of the Kabul zoo, the abandonment of which is remeniscent of what occurred in the Kuwait City Zoo during the first Gulf War, where many animals starved to death unattended.
		Note: Marjan is also a common name in slavic countries, as well as a common female name in the dutch language (though in the latter case, the j is pronounced as a y).
