Mark Holton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mark Holton (born 1958 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma) is an American film and character actor, often appearing in supporting or cameo roles in numerous films throughout the 1980s and 1990s.
A spoiled brat who is seen as a perfect angel by his wealthy father, Buxton was responsible for the theft of the bicycle that launched the adventure of the title character.
In 2003, Holton was awarded his first starring role: that of real-life serial killer John Wayne Gacy in the straight-to-video biopic Gacy.

 Classic-Horror Review of Leprechaun (1993)
He utters, and the entire script in fact is riddled with, cliches that are as scary and funny as telling coworkers to not step on cracks or they'll break their mothers' backs.
The characters of Ozzie and Alex (Mark Holton and Robert Hy Gorman, respectively), two of the Three Stooges ("Three Guys That Paint" in Jones' world), are one of the few redeeming elements.
Holton does a good job of providing a caricatured Ozzie, the straight, dull man, and Alex is a sharp witted punk, beautifully realized by Gorman, who, at 13, must have thought this film was a bigger break than the rest of the cast, who mostly seem to be embarrassed and made little effort.

Gacy (2003) - A Review by David Nusair
Mark Holton (best known for playing Francis, Pee-Wee's arch nemesis, in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure) stars as Gacy, and his performance is just about the only effective element the film has going for it.
Holton doesn't take the easy way out with his portrayal by turning Gacy into a clear-cut monster; he brings a certain sense of confusion and helplessness to the character.
Unfortunately, though, Holton's layered performance is no way indicative of the rest of the film - which is plagued by inept writing and direction.

Jerry Fuqua, Holton Unified School District 336 superintendent, said Wilson being named as a recipient of the NCA Excellence in Education Award is indicative of the leadership the principal has offered the district through the QPA and accreditation processes.
It takes five years for a school district to pass through the accreditation process, and Fuqua said the Holton schools have all not only been fully accredited under Wilson's leadership and the dedication of the district's staff, but also have received exemplary status.

dOc DVD Review: Gacy (aka The Crawl Space) (2002)
Holton (that's his mug on the cover, in full clown-face makeup), who was Pee-Wee Herman's pudgy nemesis Francis in Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, plays the title role here as if Gacy were some kind of a sadistic, murderous, purely evil extension of Francis, and his performance is full of high camp wonder.
There is a creeping air of familiarity about Holton, thanks to his role as Francis, and it adds the necessary dark undercurrent to his portrayal of Gacy; his performance blows away Brian Dennehy's stab at the serial killer in 1992's To Catch a Killer, which itself is no small feat.
Mark Holton has great moments as John Gacy, but he is trapped in a presentation of facts that is nerve-rackingly choppy and poorly edited.

 DVD Verdict Review - Gacy
Frankly, Holton's previous screen credits are not as bothersome as the lack of inherent drama in the story arc.
A character better be damn fascinating before you determine to spend ninety minutes alone with their personality and mentality only, and you would think Gacy is the perfect fodder for such an up-close examination.
Holton loves to glad hand, praising every actor he appears with on screen as being "professional, fun, and fantastic" but he doesn't offer a lot of insight into how he approached or deconstructed Gacy.

 Gacy (2003)
A few years ago Holton was playing roles as overweight teen bullies in films like Pee-Wee's Big Adventure (1985), Teen Wolf (1985) and sequel and Leprechaun (1992).
But Mark Holton doesn't really have the range to play Gacy, he just seems a soft-headed and muddling do-gooder with a dark side.
There seems little calculating threat and intelligence in Holton's performance, certainly none of the 'salesman charisma' that the real life Gacy was said to possess.

A very strong performance by Mark Holton headlines this production, which still falls short of being a well rounded depiction of the crimes of John Wayne Gacy, but it is a few levels above your usual direct to video slash fest.
Prior to making this film, actor Mark Holton has primarily been a supporting player, and likely due to the grisly content matter of Gacy, this may be unlikely to change.
It is a fine line to walk, and Holton does so as well as the limited script gives him an opportunity to.

My first problem with Gacy was the casting of Mark Holton (Teen Wolf, Pee Wee's Big Adventure) in the role of Gacy.
While Holton may resemble Gacy, his acting performance in this film is poor and I have never seen Holton in a role that would make me believe he was anything more than a actor with below average ability.
Another major problem with this film is that the story is laid out to make the viewer think that Gacy was either an idiot or the movie makes him look like one.

When a leprechaun's treasure is stolen, he hunts down the thieves and kills them -- at least that's the premise of Leprechaun.
Not only is it stilted, but writer Mark Jones is determined to explain everything, no matter how obvious (and often ludicrous) it is. Of course, towards the end, the leprechaun has to be "killed" twice.
This "sudden return" from the dead has, over the past few years, become one of the most-overused plot devices in Hollywood.

It is, of course, the first movie of a franchise that’s managed to survive for just over a decade now.
It was also the very first film released through Trimark, and marks the big screen debut of Jennifer Aniston (just before she’d land a role on this little TV show called “Friends”.)
Writer/Director Mark Jones was apparently going for that venerable combination of horror and comedy, but unfortunately, he’s not very good at either, and the result is a movie that’s too lame and too tame for horror and too annoying and ill-timed for comedy.
