Rubel the Thief has just escaped from the clutches of the evil Locumire, thanks to the aid of one of her servants, the ostensibly good witch, Kim.
The second half is more of Oakley's "text-surrounded-by-pictures" affectation - the text covers what is about to happen to Jenny Porter, Heath's self-adopted mother-substitute, foreshadowing Heath's imminent eviction from her home (and maybe even the city); the pictures show Rubel making the rescue attempt, and what happens when he finally makes it into Locumire's castle.
The issue is filled out with a lengthy essay by Oakley on what has been going on in his life lately (it makes interesting reading - certain other independent comics would have just this as their contents, let alone a throwaway introductory essay), plus three pages of letters and answers.
