Cricket's beauty is more than mere numbers
Goran Ivanisevic, Greg Rusedski and Mark Phillipoussis may be poster boys for IBM's radar gun, but beyond the usual that accompanies one of their serves hitting a linesperson in an uncomfortable place, their title-winning feats would fit on a postage stamp.
Phillipoussis may be 6ft 4in, but in tennis-playing terms he still needs to look up to Lleyton Hewitt, who is many inches shorter and even more miles slower.
The same applies to golf, where John Daly's drives are known to cross the English Channel weather permitting, but he is not quite scorching the PGA Tour.

Philippoussis v Agassi - Review - Tense Affair
After a fairly dull opening – mainly due to Phillipoussis’ excellent serving – the first set had to be decided using a tie break which Agassi won after finally hitting some of his famous returns off the mighty Phillipoussis serve.
With Phillipoussis starting to look tired – due to his two epic five set encounters – Agassi began to increase the frequency and quality of his returns and general court play to take the third set 6-4.
Had Phillipoussis done so then it would have been him, and not his opponent, who would be facing Patrick Rafter in the semi-finals.
