Former Test player Mark Vermeulen was granted bail of $2,590 after he appeared in court in Harare on Friday (local time) charged with arson attacks on the Zimbabwe cricket association's boardroom and training academy.
Vermeulen was also ordered by magistrates in Harare to surrender his passport, report on a daily basis to police and stay away from any cricket facility in the country ahead of his trial on November 14.
Vermeulen, who played the last of his eight Tests in 2004, recently returned to Zimbabwe after a stint playing league cricket in England where he was slapped with a lengthy ban for throwing a ball at spectators.

Mark Andrew Vermeulen (born 2 March 1979, in Harare) is a Zimbabwean cricket player in both Test matches and One-day Internationals.
The former captain of the national Under-19 team, Vermeulen was first selected for Zimbabwe to play in the second Test against Pakistan in November 2002, after impressing in the local competition.
Vermeulen was one of the few white Zimbabwean cricketers to make himself available to play for the national team after a mass exodus of 'rebel' players in April 2004 during a dispute with Zimbabwe Cricket, although as of May 2005 he has rarely been used at that level.
