		Markazi province is rich in historical and architectural heritage.
		Markazi (استان مرکزی in Persian) is one of the 30 provinces of Iran.
		Markazi province was part of The Median Empire in the first millenium BC, which included all central and western parts of today's Iran.

		Bank Markazi (central bank) has indicated that radical reforms are coming in the banking sector which may result in some state banks merging under pressure from newly-formed private banks, and the market being allowed to determine interest rates.
		Markazi governor Mohsen Nourbakhsh said on 9 May that guidelines for private local banks are being worked out and the first licence should be issued later in the year.
		The state banks pay a return which is set annually by Markazi and is the equivalent of an interest rate of 18 per cent.
