Marlow Place was obtained by the Royal Military Academy as an annex to house the overflow from the junior department at Remnantz in West Street whilst it was located in Marlow.
Marlow was famous for its fine needlework as well as for its lace, and part of the trousseau for Queen Victoria's eldest daughter was made here.
He was M.P. for Marlow in 1628, and was famous for locking the door to the House of Commons against the King's Messenger during the debate on the "illegal imposition of Tonnage and Poundage".
