		The Marrowstone Point Lighthouse, built in 1918 by the Lighthouse Service, is the smallest lighthouse on Puget Sound, marking the low sandy shoal on the northeast end of Marrowstone Island and the entrance to Port Townsend Bay.
		Marrowstone Point is situated on the Olympic Peninsula in northeastern Jefferson County, approximately three miles southeast of Port Townsend.
		Washington State Parks acquisition of the fifth parcel for Fort Flagler State Park in 1962 inadvertently included the 10.4-acre Marrowstone Point Light Station property, which was returned to the Coast Guard in 1972.

		In summer, the north end of Marrowstone offers sailing access at Fort Flagler with easy flat water access inside a small Bay and NW afternoon seabreeze wind running to crossover shortboard during the peak summer wind month of July.
		Camping in the park, restrooms, and the snack shack, as well as grassy rigging are within steps of the spit enclosed launch site.
		It is recommended that you go with someone familiar with the site the first time out, since there are no signs to direct you to the actual sailing site, and the road signs leading to the general area of Marrowstone Island, don't mention the Island itself much.
